I'm delighted to announce that Muse has officially been launched!

Muse is my newest venture: a sister studio to Kimberly Reed Photography. Muse will be offering inspired wedding photography, baby portraits, maternity portraits, children's portraiture, family portraits, and high school seniors. These will all be done in the fresh, fun, modern approach that is Muse's style.

The idea behind Muse has been in the works for a while now, and I'm so excited to announce it's debut. With the new studio launched, Eileen and Kelly will now be photographing out of Muse, and Kimberly Reed Photography will go back to just yours truly.

Of course, we will also continue to offer modern boudoir photography through our Femme Couture sessions.

If you're already booked with Eileen or Kelly, there's nothing to worry about, nothing has changed except their business cards. :)

Muse will be announcing more exciting news in the coming weeks, so keep an eye on the Muse blog for some specials and a contest!

More good news: One of my images from Aishah and Adnan's wedding at the Pennsylvanian was published in the national issue of The Knot: Best of Weddings 2009. Yay for my first publication in a national magazine!

The rentals for this wedding were provided by All Occasions Party Rentals. If you contact them, ask for Kristin. She's a doll!

...and answers. Elizabeth Craig of Craig Photography asked me to answer a few questions as part of her ongoing 5 Question Interview Series with local wedding vendors. I happily obliged and you can pop on over to her blog to read the results here. Thanks Elizabeth!

And because what good is a post without a photo...here's a little gem of me challenging my nephew to a friendly race on Easter. (He's smiling because he doesn't realize he's about to lose.)

The lovely and talented Simone at 5 Senses Events has put together a bridal cocktail party that is shaping up to be quite the must-attend event for brides-to-be. I've attached the invite below, and I have to point out that space is limited and you must rsvp and purchase your ticket in advance here.

Mary and David tied the knot this Saturday at their private family estate in New Hope, PA (outside of Philadelphia). Mary and David are both in advertising, so I suspected there would be lots of fabulous details at their wedding. I wasn't disappointed - creative minds like that pay meticulous attention to detail. Here are some of the things that caught my eye:

Mary's Vera Wang gown. The dress in the background on the right is one of the bridesmaids dresses, which Mary's sister designed and made. (!)

I am smitten with the look of a cage veil. Mary looked simply stunning in hers (which her sister also made).

It was an emotional day. Lyndsay was my rockstar second shooter for the day- she took the photo on the right.

The ceremony was simple, personal, witty, and intimate. Mary and Dave's officiant was a close friend of theirs, who got ordained online for the occasion. Since they weren't sure of the legalities of that in PA, the mayor of New Hope was on standby to make sure everything was official.

I loved the way Mary's gown flowed behind her as she walked.
marywalk.jpgRemember those fabulous details I was telling you about? Check these out (one of their signature drinks during cocktail hour was a watermelon basil margarita- perfect for an outdoor summer wedding):

The paper goods for the wedding were designed and made by Mary and her business partner Jen. Everything was so well thought out and executed. I've said it before- for a really beautiful and personal event, it's all in the details. If you are looking for creative and custom designed stationary, save the dates, invitations, placecards, etc. check out Ice Cream Social, their Etsy shop.

Jamie Hollander Gourmet Foods out of New Hope catered the event- the menu was Mexican food, which included a taco station and mini ice cream cones with margarita and chili chocolate gelato.

A few portraits

These two images were by Lyndsay:

There were a total of 5 toasts to the new couple. Dave's best man gave a hilarious speech entitled "How Mary saved my kidneys", during which this sequence of photos was taken:

The Urban Guerilla Orchestra kept people on the dance floor all night. They were phenomenal!!

Mary and Dave, thank you for a memorable day. I hope you're enjoying Cabo!

Cheers,

Well I have had some good news in the midst of everything else that has been happening. Style Me Pretty contacted me in the beginning of March to ask me to be featured in their Little Black Book of wedding vendors. Style Me Pretty is a very popular wedding blog which features the best of the best of real weddings, stylish trends, inspiration boards and ideas for the 'style-obsessed bride'. Their Little Black Book of vendors is a handpicked list of the "hottest, most creative wedding vendors" in each city.

They recently added Pittsburgh to their list, and I am delighted to be chosen as one of their featured wedding photographers. They only choose 3 industry professionals in each category, so it's quite an honor to be selected!

Also, today is our 4 year wedding anniversary- how time flies! Happy Anniversary baby!

I am just smitten with Tigerlilly's bridal and hair jewelry. What I love most is their line of convertible jewelry, which can convert from a tiara or headband to a necklace and back again. Love this concept! Let's face it- how many other items that you purchase specifically for your wedding day will you ever be able to use or wear again?

They also have a limited edition birdcage veil made of Swarovski crystals and sterling silver that makes me swoon.

As an added bonus, on their home page right now they have a trend report on bridal jewelry for 2008.

I love the idea of having your own wedding website, but hate when I go to them and they are very bland and blah. If you are going to go through the time and effort of putting one up, why not have one that's reflective of your personalities, or incorporates colors or details of your wedding day?

That is why I love these websites I came across from a company called Nearlyweds. Not only are they fun and vibrant, but many of them have matching invitations. Darling!

Don't have a wedding website yet? It's a great way to connect with friends and family to share the story of your engagement, details about your big day, photos of the two of you...you can even have your guests rsvp online (a great eco-friendly alternative to mailing all of those rsvp cards.)
